Markus Andersson working at Zorngårdarna in Mora, Sweden.
(Foto: Anna Bergqvist)

I'm a Swedish painter working with several materials, preferably oil color and some watercolour.
I aspire to create pictorial poetry as I paint. To find images that for me brings clarity and helps me take in the relentless flow of live.

Most things in life, human and all other, are and will remain timeless regardless of what the experts may have to say.
I have found most of my inspiration among artist who lived in the past, with a few exceptions.
Furthermore I belive that:

Freedom is the Mother of Beauty!// Markus Andersson

Sources of Inspiration

Surroundings:

The nordic nature, its fauna and culture, moods and drama, the heavens above and the great ocean.

Artists/Poets/Writers/Directors/Filosophers:

Rembrandt, Zorn, Caspar David Freidrish, Dostojevsij, Rolf Edberg, Lars Holger Holm,
Vladimir Vysotsky and many others.

Last but not least:

My faithfull and brave hunting dogs, my sheep, hens, rabbits and all other dignified creatures in my surroundings!

I would much like to get comments and thoughts from you, send me an email!

Portraits on demand:

Animal portraits: I can usually accept any commision for portraits of beings not known as Homo Sapiens Sapiens.
This is because I find it easy to relate to honest creatures of all kinds.

Portraits of humans: I can also accept humanas subjects, as long as I don't find them badly corrupted. I also reserve the right to chose angels, lighting and such.
Given a good time for the work I much enjoy making portraits of children.
